Our media training courses are tailored to meet the need of each of our clients. We will discuss your needs with you and produce a training schedule that suits you, be it a full day for five or six people, a workshop for 15, an intensive half day for a senior spokesperson or a crisis situation for the whole organisation.
For example, all day long course with press, radio and television for five to six people would typically involve a session looking at what makes a story and how the media works. We would then look at the participants’ subjects for interview, be they positive and promotional or negative and defensive or even simply commenting on industry issues. We would look realistically out whether these subjects word pass the news editor’s “So What?” test.
The course is then fast paced and would involve all the participants doing press interviews to help develop their confidence and focus on their messages. Following detailed feedback, they would then be introduced to the world of radio, possibly at BBC Broadcasting House, if they wish to use this facility.
The afternoon of this course will typically involve a variety of television interviews. Participants receive advice on what to wear, where to look, how to speak and how to engage with and persuade the viewers.
For a smaller group all this could be done in a morning or afternoon, again in a faster pace training course with plenty of advice and feedback from our experience journalist/media trainers.
For senior executives we can arrange short, intensive media training courses covering press only or press plus TV and radio. As with all courses, we can come to your office if that’s convenient for you. We travel globally. We can also arrange for the course to take place in one of our well appointed training venues or at a TV and radio studio for extra authenticity.
We are flexible and can create the course that covers the subjects you want to cover as well as being in line with your budget and the availability of your key people.
