Irene Malls- Radio

Irene Mallis is an award winning radio professional who worked as a staff producer and then editor for BBC Radio for several years before launching her own independent production company making programmes for BBC Radio 4, Five Live, BBC World service and the independent radio sector. Her company won 2 of the industry’s coveted Sony radio awards. She has many years experience of working in local and network radio.

As a broadcast journalist and producer, she has been responsible for putting the bosses of national and international companies through their paces to explain their latest misdemeanours. As a media trainer Irene has helped many major organisations to turn negative interviews into positive media opportunities.

Since the launch of Communicate Media in 1996, much of her work has been helping clients to deal with crisis management situations. Communicate Media has advised spokespeople from the Alder Hey baby parts scandal, Network Rail’s Hatfield crash and Russell Hobbs on their BBC Watchdog appearance after handles on their kettles failed, scalding some customers. With Communicate’s help, they emerged from the Watchdog experience relatively unscathed.
